The Post-Antibiotic Era – Innovation & Regulation of Feed Additives in the EU
Elinor McCartney is an expert on food chain legislation and has over 25 years’ experience in product development and food chain related regulatory affairs in the European Union. She has a PhD from Edinburgh University, an MBA and has tutored Finance and Marketing for the Open University Business School.
Elinor has worked in general veterinary practice, and in the veterinary pharmaceutical industry with Glaxo Animal Health, where she delivered international technical support for Glaxo’s poultry vaccines. She has lived in Barcelona, Spain since 1989, and worked for 10 years in various technical and commercial roles concerning the supply of additives and speciality ingredients to the feed industry.
In 2000, Elinor founded Pen & Tec Consulting, a regulatory affairs consultancy that advises on legal status and strategic positioning of a range of different products including feed, feed additives, food & food additives. Pen & Tec Consulting, now with offices in London, Barcelona and Zurich, has worked with many applicants to achieve or maintain EU approval.
Elinor is a frequent speaker at international conferences on topics such as antimicrobial resistance, probiotics and nutritional support for human and animal health and is also author or co-author of over twenty manuscripts published in international refereed scientific journals.
