Healthy food can only arise from healthy feed. In the public and science sector efficiency and safety in animal nutrition have developed as key topics regarding safety in the food chain. This is due to changes in eating habits, increased interest of customers in food safety and quality, new legislations or detection of new pathogens, to mention some. There is definitely the need for ongoing research and permanent improvements regarding wellbeing of livestock and thus, public health.
