Dr. Jan Dirk van der Klis recently has joined the DELACON team as Species Leader Poultry.
The namable scientist from the Netherlands graduated at Wageningen University in 1987 on Animal Nutrition, before he started his poultry career at the Spelderholt Institute and in 1993 finished his PhD on mineral absorption in poultry.
During the nineties, van der Klis developed the Dutch Retainable Phosphorus System, which is currently adopted world-wide. Above this, he was involved in the early phytase and xylanase efficacy studies as well. His major research focusses on feed evaluation and on nutrition and health interrelationships in poultry. During his prior 8-year employment at Schothorst Feed Research, he was manager Poultry Nutrition, consulting nutritionists at feed mills worldwide.
At DELACON, Jan Dirk van der Klis drives technical support and strategic consultancy for our poultry customers as well as continuing development of product lines. In his lecture at the Performing Nature Symposium, he will discuss his visions for the future development of poultry production.
